Dental Hygienist - Bedford, MA Full-Time or Part-Time Hours Available $1,000 Sign-On Bonus after 120 Days Chestnut Dental Associates is a highly regarded private family practice specializing in Pediatric Dentistry, Adult Dentistry, and Orthodontics. We are seeking a passionate, patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our Bedford location. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity with a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid after 120 days of employment. Position Summary The Dental Hygienist performs dental hygiene duties to promote quality dental care in a stress-free, safe, and welcoming environment. This role includes scaling, prophylaxis, digital x-rays (DEXIS), documentation, and patient and parent education. The hygienist follows universal precautions and adheres to OSHA and HIPAA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Additional responsibilities include stocking and maintaining equipment and inventory and supporting overall clinical operations as needed. Required Qualifications Current Massachusetts Dental Hygiene License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Hepatitis vaccination recommended Continuing education requirements fulfilled Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends Core Competencies Adheres to all HIPAA policies and procedures, protecting private information at all times Adheres to all Chestnut Dental Associates policies and procedures as outlined in the CDA Employee Handbook Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, seeking assistance when appropriate Positively represents CDA to patients and families by demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills Maintains a friendly, professional attitude and works well with children in a pediatric setting Demonstrates the ability to manage conflict effectively with difficult patients and/or parents Works well with interruptions and manages multiple priorities efficiently, completing tasks in a timely manner while staying on schedule Performs effectively under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment Exhibits professional behavior and maintains respectful relationships with doctors, administrators, supervisors, colleagues, patients, and outside representatives Speaks, understands, and writes fluent English Maintains current knowledge of dentistry and industry best practices Demonstrates strong manual dexterity and clinical proficiency Positively represents CDA to patients and families by exhibiting excellent communication and human relations skills Physical Requirements Must be able to withstand extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and sitting. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and adequate vision are required.
