Warehouse Worker The primary role of a Warehouse Worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Responsibilities Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using a computer. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Team player and detail-oriented. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for effective security operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of relevant experience in material handling. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a shift schedule from 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM. The work environment involves handling materials and maintaining inventory, with a focus on safety and organization. Dress code is casual, prioritizing safety compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
