Yard Forklift Operator The Yard Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard environment for our manufacturing facility. This position supports daily operations by moving materials, handling pallets and scrap, and ensuring all facility grounds are free of trash and debris. This role requires the ability to work independently to keep work areas tidy and organized. Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of all facility yards, loading areas, docks, and surrounding grounds. Pick up and properly dispose of trash, debris, and recyclable materials throughout the facility. Move, stack, and organize pallets, scrap materials, and other designated items. Transport materials to and from specified locations using manual methods or equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, if certified. Assist with scrap handling, sorting, and staging for disposal or recycling. Identify and report safety hazards, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Support general yard and facility maintenance tasks as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in material handling and inventory control. Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification in forklift operation is an advantage. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work will be conducted across multiple warehouses at our site, involving the movement of equipment as part of the manufacturing process. The environment is non-climate controlled but exceptionally clean. The position requires working from Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 4 pm, and Friday from 6 am to 2 pm, in a nice manufacturing facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
