This role is part of our Forward Slope (FSI) division,which focuses on C2, engineering, cyber, and international programs. FSI integrates complex systems, transforms geospatial and operational data into clear insights, and supports naval, joint, and allied missions with technical rigor and global perspective. Accelint is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with subject matter expertise in all aspects of border and coastal surveillance systems. The candidate will support the architecture development and detailed design, integration, installation, testing of, and training on border and coastal surveillance systems, primarily on international projects tied to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases. Technologies and disciplines will include (but not be limited to) radar, EO/IR cameras, AIS, IP networks, LTE, microwave, HF, VHF, UHF, SATCOM, Tactical Data Links, and common operational picture (COP) software.Job Description:Systems Engineer III - Border and Coastal SurveillanceFull timeHybrid and Onsite options - San Diego, CADuties & Responsibilities:Conducting site surveys and evaluating requirements and determining optimal system architectureConducting AoAs and developing recommendations on use of specific technologies and OEM equipmentDetailed design to include aspects such as viewshed analysis, network mapping, frequency spectrum allocation, EMI, CONOPs, etc.Developing CDRL documentation to include architecture documentation, site surveys reports, CDR packages, and Test Plans and ReportsTesting and troubleshooting systemsDeveloping training materials to support training of end users (e.g. host nation military)Guidance to engineering staff on Operations and Maintenance of operational systemsCollaborating with software and platform engineers in the development of C2 systemsRequired Qualifications:Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one. To learn more about the security clearance process please access this link.Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field5+ years of demonstrated experience with:COTS border and coastal surveillance technologiesRF communications and wireless communication networks and equipmentPlanning and performing systems engineering analysis related to border and coastal surveillance, telecommunications (e.g. microwave) networks, including familiarity with network planning software toolsWilling to travel out of the country for several weeks at a time to austere locations (e.g. Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia) (20% travel)Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with:RadarEO/IR camerasAISIP networksLTEMicrowaveHF / VHF / UHFSATCOMTactical Data LinksCommon operational picture (COP) softwareClearance Requirements Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information.
