Job Title: Deputy CIO (Applications, SIS Modernization & IT Operations) - Long-Term ConsultantRate: $90 - $125 per hour (based on experience)Location: Boston, MA (On-site)Type: Full-Time Contract (12+ months, potential to extend or convert) Why consider this opportunity? As the Deputy CIO, you will drive modernization of core systems, elevate technology delivery practices, and lead a large-scale transition from a legacy on-prem Student Information System to a modern SaaS platform. It's a rare opportunity to step into a strategic and hands-on leadership role with ownership across applications, operations, and mission-critical academic and administrative systems. What you will do Lead day-to-day IT operations across a multi-site environment Own and advance the Application Development function Drive cloud migration efforts for the SIS and related enterprise platforms Modernize reporting, data governance, and system reliability Establish and enforce structured delivery frameworks, SLAs, and ticketing processes Assess team capabilities, mentor managers, and build high-performing groups Ensure stability, security, and operational continuity across all enterprise systems Partner closely with the CIO on strategy, risk management, and cross-departmental initiatives Maintain a strong on-site leadership presence to support teams and stakeholders What the ideal candidate brings 10+ years of technology leadership experience Strong background in application development and cloud/SaaS migrations Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) or ERP platforms (Ellucian, Banner, Colleague, Workday Student, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, etc.) Excellent communication skills and a disciplined operational leadership approach Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple locations Hands-on, proactive leadership style with a sense of urgency and ownership Nice to have Experience in higher education, healthcare, or multi-site operations environments Exposure to AI/automation tools (including modern copilots) Salesforce or major cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) Schedule & Engagement Terms On-site in Boston, Monday through Friday Occasional travel to nearby satellite locations 12+ month engagement with the potential to extend or convert to full-time #ZRCFSTECH#INMAR2026#CFSMAR2026#CBMAR2026#LI-DS1 EB-1641846534
