DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerThis position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities Include:Review, update, or modify traffic simulation models and GIS based asset inventoriesReview safety data on historical GIS based vehicle collision records Interface with traffic signal control equipment software to perform routine monitoring system wide or location specific tasksAssist in reviewing and evaluating operations and safety of vulnerable road users on the county highwayField work which may include traffic observations, installing and removing portable traffic counting cameras and equipment, and conducting field measurementsConduct traffic counts and data collection in an office setting using video and computer toolsAnalyze and summarize traffic and pedestrian dataAssist with traffic plans and studies REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requires the applicant to be actively taking undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution to obtain an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree, or be a recent graduate (within past year).Preferred candidates will be majoring in Civil Engineering, Geography, Graphic Information Systems (GIS), Urban Planning, Environmental, Geoscience or a closely related discipline. Requires a valid driver's license.A pre-employment background check is required. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Physical Requirements:Medium Work: Exerting up to 30pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and /or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for light work. Work Environment:The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noise, noxious odors, dusts, poor ventilation, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, oils, electricity, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises, travel, and other related conditions and situations.01 What is your highest completed level of education?
