You will receive a confirmation email after your online application has been submitted.Position DescriptionThe Traffic Regulator is responsible for safely channeling pedestrians and motor vehicles through or around road construction and maintenance work zones, protecting both workers and traveling public.Responsibilities:Create and maintain a safety barrier separating the general public from road maintenance, heavy equipment, new pavement and Ajax employeesCommunicate with motoring public, if necessaryFollow all safety rules and regulationsPerform other related duties as assigned.Position RequirementsSkills: Be able to communicate with all positions of the workforceExhibit honesty and trustworthinessAble to work in a labor-intensive environmentPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsEducation/Experience:High School Diploma1-2 years of construction labor experience, or in a related field, is a plusExperience in roadbuilding laboring is preferredWork Environment/Physical Abilities:The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand (for extended durations of work shift), climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Traffic Regulator functions.
