Job Description

Eckerd College is currently seeking candidates for the position of Fleet Maintenance and Donation Coordinator for Waterfront to join our Student Success team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. As the Fleet Maintenance and Donation Coordinator, you will oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of the Waterfront Program's vessels, vehicles, equipment, and facilities. The position manages shop operations, supervises and trains student employees, and coordinates maintenance activities with staff, contractors, and the College's facilities department. We are seeking someone with advanced knowledge and skills in maintenance of boats and engines, marine equipment and marina facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and basic knowledge and skill in working with computers, word processing and spreadsheet software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Google Suite, etc). Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with great levels of responsibility and accountability is essential. The Waterfront Program is an important part of Eckerd College and remains true to its founding principle: "Education through Service." Key Responsibilities * Manage all maintenance operations for the Waterfront, ensuring the functional status and high standard of care of all vessels, vehicles, trailers, motors, equipment, buildings, docks, decks, ramps, and related systems. * Perform and coordinate maintenance and repairs through Waterfront shop staff, student employees, contractors, and collaboration with the College's facilities department. * Supervise, train, and schedule student shop employees, emphasizing safety, quality of work, and instruction in specialized boat maintenance skills. * Train and certify College drivers for vehicle operation and vessel trailering and maintain required professional certifications related to equipment operation and hazardous material management. * Acquire donated boats and equipment to support fleet operations and revenue generation for the Waterfront Program. * Manage the full lifecycle of donated vessels and equipment, including survey, acceptance, acquisition, documentation, acknowledgment through the Advancement Office, and compliance with IRS guidelines. * Coordinate the refurbishment of vessels and equipment to ensure they are suitable for Waterfront Program use or resale. * Maintain vessels owned by the College for resale and manage the sale of vessels and marine equipment, including advertising, pricing, responding to inquiries, showing vessels, and completing transfer documentation. * Maintain accurate records related to the donation, refurbishment, and sale of vessels and equipment. * Manage donation intake, inventory, storage, pricing, and event setup for the annual Marine Yard Sale fundraiser. * Support general Waterfront operations and events, including assisting with weather emergency preparations and participating in revenue-generating programs such as the summer watersports camp. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree; minimum of three years of marine maintenance experience. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
