Logistics Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee and enhance our logistics operations in the Ashland, Virginia/North Richmond area. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient management of outbound shipments and optimizing yard operations.Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily logistics activities, focusing on outbound shipments and yard management. Enhance truck check-in and loading processes to minimize wait times at the inbound dock, improving operational efficiency. Oversee rail logistics, ensuring effective coordination with rail carriers for smooth inbound shipments. Utilize logistics IT systems, such as SAP, for efficient inventory management and control of inbound shipments. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound optimization and scale wait times to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with the outbound team to maintain seamless inventory management and ensure optimal on-site OCC inventory levels. Qualifications: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within logistics, warehousing, or a related field, particularly in overseeing outbound logistics. Proficiency in ERP systems, with a preference for SAP, or experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for managing inbound inventory and shipments. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in logistics and transportation operations within the manufacturing industry. Experience with change management is essential.
