Job Description

Seeking a courteous professional who wants to work part-time in a great environment helping others. The Driver provides transportation to residents and staff to assigned locations on campus in a safe manner following all company safety rules and state driving laws. Ensure vehicles are inspected and maintained to insure they are safe and in proper driving conditions. Shift(s): PRN - Saturday and Sunday 1p-7p, other shifts as needed. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: * Inspect and maintain vehicles (i.e. fueling, maintaining fluid levels, and cleaning interior and exterior) * Drive resident, staff and visitors in company vehicles to assigned locations * Assist passengers in and out of vehicles and into locations as needed * Secure wheelchairs and walkers as needed * Respond to calls for return rides * Notify supervisor or peers when assistance is necessary * Record resident charges and P-Card purchases * Additional duties as assigned EQUIPMENT: * Vehicles * Computer and telephone PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds * Ability to lift 41+ pounds with mechanical assistance * Ability to maneuver in tight places REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: * Meet regulatory and organization's employment standards established for driving records DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: * Familiarity with Richmond and surrounding areas * Knowledge of assistive devices (i.e. wheelchairs and walkers) REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * High School Diploma or equivalency * Valid Driver's License in the State of Virginia with a minimum age 21 to drive for the organization * One year experience in customer service position DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Valid Commercial Driver's License in the State of Virginia with a minimum age 25 to drive groups * Experience in health care related transportation REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: * Must treat residents, families and staff with respect * Put forth extra effort to ensure successful customer relationships * Promote cooperation between team members * Demonstrate and act on the collective concerns of others * Offers of employment are conditioned on applicants meeting requirements of a pre-employment drug screening and background check
