DescriptionOverview: Routesetters build a large part of the gym experience for our customers. Every shift they work as a team to create engaging and appropriate climbs. They communicate well with their peers, listen to and analyze feedback from colleagues and customers, and have an intense interest in curating an amazing experience for anyone that walks into our gyms. They are professionals, prioritizing safety in all ways and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. What you would do:Work on a team to create awesome climbing experiences for our customersBring ideas to and participate in the conversation during setup for the day, setting, and forerunningFollow and prioritize all safety policies and best practices at Ascend and offer ideas for improvementShare organizational and prep work including stripping and cleaning walls, washing holds, set up and tear down for the setting day, wall maintenance as required, hold room cleaning and organization, hold washing room cleaning and organization, and other tasks as assigned or neededListen to and deliver customer feedback to the teamContribute to setting climbing competitions as requiredOur ideal candidate has:Experience in a commercial climbing facilityExperience working as part of a small, creative teamAbility to demonstrate varied and complex climbing skills on a variety of terrainPrevious routesetting experience Youth coaching or youth specific setting experience preferred but not requiredAbility to work the entire setting day including set up, setting, forerunning, and tear downAbility to set and forerun on boulders, top ropes, auto belays, and lead routesSalary $13 - $20 per hour
