DIRECTOR, TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING Hybrid role based in Lisle, IL Salary Range: $110,000-$120,000 annually About Us: Morreale Communications is an award-winning, woman-owned public relations firm with a specialty focus in the areas of Transportation & Infrastructure, Health & Wellness, Energy & Utilities and Public Affairs. Background: The Director (Transportation Engineering) works closely with the client, technical, project and creative teams to develop, implement and support comprehensive communications strategies and deliverables. These plans may include content development for both internal and external communications, as well as education and training campaigns intended for diverse audiences using both traditional and emerging resources. The Director (Transportation Engineering) plays a dual role of strategic thinker and highly skilled technical executor. They bring new ideas and fresh perspectives to communicate highly technical information while supporting the development of high-quality deliverables. They are an experienced project manager and will engage with multiple internal, external and client project teams to closely monitor deliverables and track metrics for successful outcomes. The Director (Transportation Engineering) works closely with clients to engage target audiences and educate them on project goals and benefits. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and public speaker, and is comfortable facilitating meetings with a wide range of audiences - from entry-level engineers to top-level executives. Project management experience with transportation engineering and technical writing or editing is preferred. Job Responsibilities: Provide exceptional client service and high-quality deliverables on time and on budgetCommunicate regularly with project partners and clients via email, virtual meetings and face-to-face interactions to provide status updates and strategic guidanceDevelop content, design and edit reports about the client's assets targeted toward a diverse group of stakeholders, including engineers, legislators and the publicPartner with client's engineering teams to develop technical status update presentations in a digestible formatFormat criteria manuals and update client's website annuallySchedule and facilitate technical training sessions that educate internal and external stakeholders on best practices, processes and key engineering innovationsLead outreach for and execution of large-scale events and technical workshops for engineers and industry partnersProvide strategic recommendations to client on event themes, messaging and logisticsManage event planning, advance preparation and day-of-event executionMeasure attendee satisfaction and event impact, and make recommendations for continuous improvementProactively manage project performance, including budget, timeline and client satisfaction, and address issues to keep projects on trackAttend and manage in-person client events and functionsThe Ideal Candidate Will: Maintain high standards for work quality and the overall client experienceThrive in a client-embedded environment, serving as a primary point of contactDemonstrate resourcefulness and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with agilityExhibit a high level of professionalismBuild trust and instill confidence with clients through actions and wordsWill be a solutions-oriented problem solverJob Qualifications: 8+ years professional experience in project management or communications for/within the transportation or engineering industriesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, both on deliverables and with project partnersAbility to convey complex, technical topics in a clear and concise mannerAbility to adjust communication style to appropriately meet the needs of a variety of audiencesSkilled at working with minimal supervision on high-profile projectsExperienced with budget management and trackingExperience leading and supporting project teams while balancing multiple initiatives concurrentlyStrong familiarity with transportation industry and its best practicesBachelor's degree required, with a preferential focus in engineering, communications, urban planning or related fieldMust have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client offices and eventsMust be able to work onsite in Lisle, IL a minimum of three days, per weekWhat we offer: Competitive medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits401k program and safe harbor matchPaid personal time offPaid Maternity LeaveRemote and flexible schedule optionsCharitable giving employer-match programCommitment to Morreale Core Values.
