Now Hiring: Airport Operations SpecialistLocation: Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) | New Haven, CTSchedule: Full-Time | Includes shift work, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtimeStarting Pay: $25.00 per hourReports to: Airside Operations ManagerTweed-New Haven Airport is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Airport Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day operational integrity of both airside and landside functions. This essential role contributes directly to regulatory compliance, emergency response, and the safety and efficiency of airport operations. The position also includes Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) responsibilities on assigned shifts.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic and hands-on operations role in a growing regional airport environment.Key Responsibilities:Conduct routine airside inspections in compliance with FAR Part 139 and the Airport Certification Manual (ACM)Monitor and enforce airport safety and security standards; promptly address hazards and discrepanciesSupport emergency operations, including initial response for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and medical eventsIssue NOTAMs and Field Condition Reports (FCR) as necessaryOperate snow removal equipment during winter weather operationsMonitor access control systems, CCTV, and enforce Airport Security Plan (ASP) requirementsAssist with landside functions including terminal operations, parking, traffic flow, and stakeholder communicationsAssist with airfield construction coordination and tenant/vendor escortingRespond to irregular events and complete detailed incident reportingMaintain airport records and assist in training stakeholders as neededParticipate in scheduled rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysQualifications:Bachelor's degree in airport management or a related field strongly preferredPrior experience in airport operations, emergency response, or ARFF strongly preferredAbility to make sound decisions in fast-paced or emergency environmentsEffective written and verbal communication skills, including professional radio communicationMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an insurable driving recordMust be able to pass and maintain TSA security clearance, background check (including fingerprinting), and federally required drug screeningMust maintain the ability to pass required drug screenings throughout employmentAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as requiredCertifications & Training (must be obtained if not already held):Completion of ARFF training and ability to wear SCBA gearNIMS certifications: ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700Airfield driver training (initial and annual recurrent)Compliance with all training requirements under FAR Part 139 and the Airport Security PlanCompensation & Benefits:Starting wage: $25.00/hourComprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including:Retirement Savings PlanMedical, Dental, and Vision plan optionsLife, AD&D, and Disability insuranceAll benefits are subject to Company policies and availabilityPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to lift/move over 75 lbsMust be able to walk, stand, climb, crawl, and work in all weather conditionsStrong visual, auditory, and physical agility required to safely perform duties in airside and landside environmentsTo apply, please submit your resume and confirm your ability to meet all pre-employment and ongoing training requirements.Avports LLC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
