Salary: $17.42 - $20.78 HourlyLocation : Public Works Facility Burnsville, MNJob Type: SeasonalJob Number: 2026-00410Department: Public Works - FleetOpening Date: 03/09/2026 Position DetailsUnder the supervision of the Fleet Department Superintendent and Crew Leader, the seasonal Fleet Maintenance Worker performs skilled and general labor in the maintenance and repair of city vehicles and the maintenance facility. Responsibilities include cleaning and organizing vehicles and repair bays, sealing floors, assisting mechanics as needed, running parts, and shoveling or blowing snow around the facility.The work of Public Works department staff touches the lives of residents and visitors daily by supporting the operations and maintenance of City streets, water and storm drains, and City municipal facilities.This role is non-exempt (hourly) with a starting wage of $17.42, and the schedule is 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This is a temporary, six-month position.How you'll use your strengths every dayThe Seasonal Maintenance - Fleet Worker values people and perspectives by:Assisting mechanics with vehicle and building maintenanceOrganizing, stocking, and running parts for the departmentThey are on the leading edge when they:Clean and organize maintenance repair baysSeal floors, change tires, and clean vehicles and equipmentAnd they expect the best by:Safely operating city vehicles and equipment, including trucks and power toolsMaintaining high standards of safety and quality in every task What you'll bring to help you be successful Must be 18 years of age or older.A valid Class D Driver's License or eligibility to obtain a Driver's License in the State of Minnesota.
