Fargo Trailer Center, a subsidiary company of Wallwork Inc., is currently taking applications for qualified Trailer Technicians to join our team. This position is responsible for repairs to the trailer, including air brakes, electrical systems, and other repairs. Repairs will be made in accordance with factory, dealership, and D.O.T. specifications by performing job tasks using hand factory, dealership, and D.O.T. specifications by performing job tasks using handand power tools and welders. We are looking for a trailer technician able to work effectively both independently and within a team.QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)Education and/or years' experience required:High School Diploma or G.E.D.Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.Technical background preferredPreferred/Required Skills and Abilities:Completion of mechanical trade school preferred or a minimum of 2 years trailer technician experienceAbility to pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle report required.Must have own tools and toolboxAbility to read and comprehend instructions and information and knowledge of truck trailer repair.Good judgment and the ability to use hand power tools to operate other machinery safelyAbility to comprehend supervision on any specific job tasksWelding and fabrication experience is preferred; however not requiredFamiliar with air brakes, truck and trailer inspections, electrical, suspension components replacement and adjustments, wheel-end and hub componentsFamiliar with bodywork on trailers, air suspension components, hydraulic systems, and frameworkSupervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):No supervisory responsibilities required for this position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITESDiagnose and make recommendations on repairs as required.Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards on all styles of trailers as assigned.Perform additional inspection of trailer to include loose wires, damage, misrouted wires or hoses that may be rubbing on other components and are subject to cause a malfunction or failure and determine if additional safety or service work is required.Remove accessories, electrical and mechanical equipment, trim or any other components to gain clear access to areas of vehicle needing repair.Consult immediately with the Shop Foreman if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.Repair damaged structural components or replace as requested on work order.Document all work performed.Advise Shop Foreman of any problems: parts hold ups, sublet repair needs, or other changes that may affect the promise time.Ensure that customers' trailers are kept clean.Keep shop area neat and clean.Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.Performs Wallwork Inc. wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.Upholds Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral andservice expectations as defined in our policies and procedures.BENEFITS:Health, Dental & Vision InsuranceHealth Savings AccountEmployer-Paid Life Insurance & Long-Term Disability401(k) & Profit Sharing PlanVoluntary BenefitsFlexible Spending AccountsPaid Time Off (PTO) PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Discounts and Special EventWallwork Inc. and its subsidiary companies are a drug-free workplace and anequal opportunity employer.
