Shippers are responsible for preparing, organizing, and overseeing the shipment of finished products to customers or other destinations.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform general warehouse activities such as:Pick materialLoad floor stacked and palletized materialOperate mobile equipment (pallet rider and forklift)Palletize product for loadsUnload and put away incoming productsRead and understand ordersCube trailers for the material to fit properlyAble to load multiple stop trailersKeep track of cartons loaded per truck/hourObserve al established safety guidelinesResponsible for 5-S housekeepingMust be able to perform quality and accurate LoadingResponsible for following good inventory practicesREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Must be Safety oriented.Must have experience/or demonstrate willingness to learn how to operate hand-held scanner, and PC to enter shipping dataMust take proper care of equipment and company propertyAble and willing to work overtimeAble to work in a hot, fast-paced environment on feet 8 or more hours a dayAble to use small hand tools High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience with manufacturing/ plastics extrusion industry desirable Product (vinyl siding) knowledge desirable 2 years of Forklift experience preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT:The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
