**Job Title: Drone Flight Support Assistant/ Support Engineer II** **Location:** Seattle, WA 98108 **Duration:** 6 months (possible extension) **Pay Rate:** $29/hr. Our client, a leading organization in the engineering and technology sector, is seeking a Support Engineer II to join their team. As a Support Engineer II, you will be part of the Research & Development Department supporting innovative safety technology projects. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, safety-focused mindset, and flexibility, which will align successfully in the organization. The **top 3 required skills** for this role are: 1. **Remote-Control/Drone Operation Expertise** - Experience operating drones or UAS systems, ideally with FAA 14 CFR Part 107 certification. 2. **Technical Troubleshooting & Maintenance Skills** - Ability to conduct lightweight maintenance, troubleshoot technical systems, and support operational readiness. 3. **Leadership & Team Coordination** - Experience leading small teams in dynamic, safety-critical environments with strong communication skills. **Key Responsibilities:** + Operate and support unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for research, development, and testing missions. + Conduct mission planning, pre-launch preparations, and lightweight maintenance activities. + Assist with operational readiness and logistics planning. + Lead small teams in operational environments. + Work variable shifts, including graveyard hours as required. + Travel extensively (up to 75% of the year) to offsite work locations. + Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of operations. + Lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for 8-10 hours (with breaks), and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach as needed. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** + Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills + Aeronautical knowledge and familiarity with aviation systems + Knowledge of Jira or similar project tracking tools + Terminal knowledge relevant to UAS operations + Experience leading small teams in operational environments + Valid Driver's License + Ability to pass **Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and drug test** as part of background check **Preferred Skills & Qualifications:** + FAA **14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate** + 2+ years of remote-control drone or UAS pilot experience with strong coordination and execution skills + Experience in the commercial UAS industry + Aviation safety experience (e.g., Safety Officer or similar role) + Current U.S. fixed-wing or rotorcraft pilot certificate + Excellent business communication, documentation, and reporting skills If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
