The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize costsOversee processes to meet project and mission requirementsMonitor and analyze inventory performance metrics, identifying areas for improvementDrive initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory, improving overall inventory turnoverDevelop and maintain inventory management systems and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiencyLogistics Operations:Design and optimize logistics networks to support global operations and mission requirementsDevelop transportation strategies for critical components, including specialized handling for sensitive aerospace materialsOversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materialsImplement best practices in logistics to reduce lead times and transportation costsEstablish contingency plans for logistics disruptions to maintain operational continuityStrategic Leadership:Lead and mentor the integrated inventory and logistics teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvementCollaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, engineering, and quality assuranceDevelop and execute supply chain risk management strategies specific to aerospace industry challengesDrive digital transformation initiatives across inventory and logistics operationsEstablish KPIs and performance measurement systems for the entire supply chainSupplier and Stakeholder Management:Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providersNegotiate service level agreements to ensure quality and timely deliveryPrepare and present comprehensive supply chain reports to senior managementEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements including export control and aerospace industry standardsRepresent supply chain interests in cross-functional project planning and executionMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role spanning both inventory and logistics functionsStrong knowledge of inventory management and logistics principles, practices, and toolsProven experience in developing and implementing integrated supply chain strategiesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisionsStrong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teamsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsProficiency in inventory management software, transportation management systems, and ERP systemsExperience in aerospace or industrial manufacturing is highly desirableAPICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or CSCMP certification is a plusPreferred Qualifications Experience with aerospace supply chain operations and familiarity with space industry requirementsKnowledge of DoD/government requirements for defense product handling/experience managing government propertyKnowledge of international logistics and import/export regulations/ITAR managementExperience managing complex, high-value inventory with specialized handling requirementsBackground in implementing lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies in supply chain operationsTrack record of successful supply chain transformation initiativesCompensation:Pay Range:$155,851.00 - $214,315.00Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.Elevate Your CareerAt Sierra Space, we are committed to your personal and professional development.
