Job Title: Traffic Control Overview: The Traffic Control position involves directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around a work site.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:Set up and tear down traffic control devicesFlagging trafficMaintain a safe area for the motoring public, pedestrians and coworkers in and around the work zoneRequired Skills/Abilities:Reliable transportation to and from work siteStrong work ethicStrong math skills Physical Organization and time management A CDL license is a plusFlexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessaryPassing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conductedConsent to a DMV license evaluationMust have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and ATSSA Flagger Training CertificationPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift 50 poundsObserve and comply with necessary PPE requirementsMust be able to work in a noisy area with many odors presentBending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:Ability to read and understand SDS Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree Basic mathPosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru April time-frame.
