Job Description CDM Smith is seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the development of our airport market within the U.S. Transportation Group. This strategic hire will be responsible for establishing and growing the market, building a high-performing team, and developing an airport-focused business strategy to increase sales with existing clients and attract new clients nationwide. Our focus includes all aspects of planning, environmental, design, and construction support. This position will lead to the implementation of strategic activities and coordinate closely with existing Sales Leaders to ensure alignment and success. we are open to candidates based within a commutable distance to any of the following CDM Smith office locations: Los Angeles or San Francisco, CA Houston, TX Boston, MA, Chicago, IL or Orlando FL. Key Responsibilities: As a member of our team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: * Leading with impact internally and externally, positioning CDM Smith as a trusted advisor. * Driving business development, maintaining high-value relationships with airport clients, and identifying new opportunities. * Collaborating with sales teams to develop strategic capture plans, proposals, presentations, and other business development efforts. * Serving as a technical or project lead on projects of significant size and strategic importance. * Engaging in professional societies where clients and potential clients are active (e.g., AAAE, ACI-NA). * Positioning the firm technically to stay ahead of emerging marketplace challenges. * Championing innovation, pursuing and applying technologies that give CDM Smith a competitive edge and help clients achieve more for less. * Recruiting and retaining top talent, building a team of strategic technical experts and future leaders. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. * Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience growing airport practice to $60M in annual sales in the areas of planning, environmental, design, and/or construction projects at large airports. * Active membership in a related professional organization. * Relevant professional license or certification (i.e., P.E., LEED AP, Env SP, ACIP, etc.). * Existing, strong relationships with airport clients.
