With short haul, drayage, intermodal, LTL, and white-glove solutions, Cargomatic is equipped to handle a wide variety of shipments.Cargomatic was named to the Built In Best Places to Work list, recognizing our people-first culture, strong benefits, and commitment to employee growth and well-being.Position OverviewCargomatic is seeking an experienced Terminal Operations Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day operations for our terminal.This role is critical in driving operational excellence across drayage and port-centric logistics while ensuring safety, compliance, and exceptional customer service. You will lead terminal operations, optimize performance, and play a key role in scaling Cargomatic's presence in the market.We are looking for a proactive, hands-on leader with deep knowledge of port operations, containerized freight, and terminal processes.What You'll DoTerminal Operations LeadershipAccountable for safe operations that meet regulatory requirementsMaintain and grow capacity to meet market demandOversee all daily terminal and drayage operationsControl costs across drivers, terminals, and chassis while maximizing revenueEnsure efficient container movement, dispatching, yard flow, and coordination with port terminals and partnersOptimize processes to reduce dwell time and improve service performanceTeam Management & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop terminal staff (dispatchers, clerks, yard personnel)Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementManage staffing levels, scheduling, and performanceCustomer Service & RelationshipsDeliver high customer satisfaction through communication, accuracy, and proactive issue resolutionBuild and maintain relationships with customers, port authorities, carriers, and internal teamsOperational Performance & KPIsEstablish and track key performance indicatorsAnalyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesProvide reporting and insights to leadershipSafety, Compliance & Regulatory OversightEnsure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and port authority requirementsImplement and enforce safety protocolsResource & Asset ManagementAllocate personnel and equipment efficientlyOversee utilization and maintenance of trucks, chassis, and yard assetsStrategic Support & GrowthSupport regional expansion and market growth initiativesLead or assist with new customer launches and operational scalingIdentify opportunities for process and technology improvementsWhat You BringRequiredProven experience managing terminal, port, drayage, or intermodal operationsStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesKnowledge of transportation regulations, port procedures, and safety standardsExperience with TMS/WMS systemsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferredBachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fieldExperience with P&L ownership or operational budgetingCompensationThe expected salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000, depending on experience, skills, location, and other job-related factors.
