Job Description: The Shuttle Services Manager will assist the Assistant Director of Transportation & Parking Services (AD of DTPS) with planning, administering, coordinating, and implementing an efficient shuttle and fleet program and parking operations for the University. Acts as a support to provide backup as an additional driver when needed. This position is full-time, limited-term. Work Location: Both, Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) and Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles).Start Date: ImmediatelyExpected End Date: One (1) year duration and dependent on start dateApplications Deadline: Open until filledAnnual Salary Rate Range: $76,823.12 - $82,968.97Monthly Salary Rate Range: $6,402.67 - $6,914.08 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.Duties and Responsibilities:Serves as the secondary transportation service administrator for the university within the Department of Transportation and Parking Services.Directly manages university transportation services, including planning and coordinating driver shifts, routes, service schedules, and fleet management.Ensures drivers use approved routes and adhere to community restrictions while achieving the scheduled pick-up times by providing training and feedback.Maintains real-time communications with drivers to resolve service problems and respond to road closures, emergency situations, traffic accidents, and mechanical breakdownsCommunicates effectively with all required stakeholders by answering calls and e-mails, including after-hours in emergency situationsMonitors routes, make necessary adjustments for overloads and delays, and cover routes during callouts and driver shortages as a backup driver. Arrange additional temporary drivers as required.Issue driver assignments and respond to trip requests and special events. Provide service estimates to stakeholders, maintain trip records, and submit invoicingCommunicates with the university community and outside agencies to exchange information and coordinate activities. Resolve issues and respond to concerns and questions regarding shuttle services and special accommodations for students, faculty, and staffContinuously surveys the shuttle program for safety, costs, and improvement areas. Notify the AD of DTPS of safety matters and present solutionsMaintain a positive partnership with Campus Safety and other departments to provide Remarkable Service to the community.Compile data and provide data reports on ridership demand, trends, and effectiveness of various transportation programs, including parking countsManages university mobile transit app, GPS Dash Cams, onboard Wi-Fi, fleet management software, and other tech equipment in partnership with contracted programmersMaintains department websites, apps, physical signs, message boards, and social media with current informationMaintains compliance with all jurisdictional requirements, including personnel records such as CDL license and medical certificates and university vehicle inspection reports, maintenance logs, registrations, renewal notices, etc.Prepares and maintains various reports related to routing, schedules, accidents, and other transportation services, shuttle records, fuel use, and vehicle inspection recordsCollaborates with the AD of DTPS and Fleet Management Support Specialist to coordinate mechanic service providers for repairs and preventative maintenance of shuttles and other vehicles; monitor the status of repairs; inform the AD of DTPS on equipment needsUtilizes software and payment processing systems to sell parking permits, citation appeals, special permit applications, transit subsidies, and reservations. Answer inquiries from faculty, staff, or students about parking services and permitsRepresents the Department of Transportation at promotional events, informational meetings, forums, etc.Operate access control systems to authorize university identification cards for parking structures and other automated functionsAttends meetings and workshops to maintain current knowledge of and assist in implementing safety and transportation codes, regulations, laws, and related mattersOther Duties and Responsibilities:Works may be assigned at either Chalon or Doheny Campus.Trains staff in following procedures and performing driver duties.Works with designated insurance specialists and government agencies.Occasional evenings and weekends, usually with notice.Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of the transportation needs of a diverse communityBasic principles of supervision; and ability to communicate effectively with the Mount communityKnowledge of software applications, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and advanced ExcelKnowledge of in-house systems provided while on the jobFamiliarity with scheduling systems, state requirements, and related compliance mandates.Familiarity with marketing programs and group presentationsAbilities and Skills:Willingness and ability to work in an environment involving exposure to some cleaning agents/chemicalsEffectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlineMust be flexible as well as detail and team orientedMust exercise sound judgment and make decisive and accurate decisions appropriate to the situation at handAlso, must have strong organization and prioritization, oral/written communication, interpersonal and project management skillsBi-lingual Spanish/English is a plusEducation:High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Experience PreferredLicenses and Certifications:Must possess a valid Class "B" endorsement "P" California driver's licenseContingent on completion of a satisfactory driving records check and ongoing participation in the DMV Pull Program (driving record audits)Application Instructions: Please submit a resume and cover letter.
