Job SummaryC.R. Jackson is hiring a Traffic Control Team Member (Flagger) to support our road construction crews by safely controlling traffic around active job sites. In this role, you'll help protect both the public and our team by ensuring traffic flows safely and efficiently through work zones.You'll work alongside a supportive team that values safety, accountability, and doing the job right, with opportunities to gain experience and grow within the construction industry.What You'll DoDirect traffic using hand signals, signs, and other traffic control devicesCommunicate with other flaggers using radios to safely manage two-way trafficSet up and remove traffic control devices including cones, barricades, and warning signsMonitor traffic flow and alert the crew to any safety concernsRecord license plate numbers of motorists who fail to follow directions when necessaryAssist with general job site duties including cleanup and material handlingMaintain a clean and safe work zone at all timesCommunicate respectfully and work together to keep operations running safely and efficientlyFollow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all timesWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GEDFlagger certification (ATSSA preferred, or willingness to obtain)Knowledge of traffic control and roadway safety practicesAbility to follow directions and communicate clearlyProfessional and courteous communication with the public and team membersAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsReliable attendance and strong commitment to safetyWillingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as neededMust pass pre-employment background check and drug screeningMust have a valid driver's licenseWhy This Is a Great Career OpportunityGain hands-on experience in road construction and traffic controlWork on projects that build and maintain South Carolina's roadsOpportunity to learn additional skills and move into other construction rolesBe part of a team that values safety, teamwork, and career growthPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull 50-pound loadsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsMaintain awareness of surroundings and moving traffic for safetyBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidays and vacationSupportive team and opportunities for advancementAbout C.R.
