We are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager of Rail Procurement Logistics with deep expertise in rail transportation, service, pricing, and economic development at a Class I railroad. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that expand our markets, optimize our network, and reduce costs. This role requires an experienced account/market manager with executive presence who can manage relationships with Class I railroads while also delivering compelling presentations and actionable insights to Amrize leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker who is also detail-oriented, capable of analyzing data, negotiating contracts, and driving improvements in service, sustainability, and efficiency. The location can be in Chicago, Dallas, or Boston WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH * Establish procurement strategies that drive cost savings, improve reliability, and align with Amrize's growth objectives. * Establish new lanes and strategic development of plant and terminal rail operations * Design multi-year sourcing plans for Class I railroads including volume commitments, index strategies,and contract structures. * Analysis of transportation performance across rail and trucking logistics, identifying cost drivers, service trends, and operational improvement opportunities. * Thorough comparison of transportation modes to achieve efficiency and savings through network optimization * Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education: Bachelor's degree Field of Study Preferred: Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Required Work Experience: 10+ ears of experience in logistics, supply chain analytics, or transportation account or market management (rail or trucking strongly preferred Required Technical Skills:Excel, Tableau, and Power BI; experience with Python or R a plus. Travel Requirements: 25% Additional Requirements: * Proven track record of transportation pricing, account management, customer negotiations, and logistics performance improvement. Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. * Highly self-motivated, curious, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-moving environment. * Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS * Collaborate with rail carriers to secure competitive rates, establish new transportation corridors, and coordinate economic development and expansion initiatives. * Contribute to the negotiation of agreements with Class I railroad and regional carriers, encompassing fuel surcharge mechanisms, demurrage, and service-level agreements. * Assesses rail network capacity, service performance, and rate structures to proactively identify potential risks and advantageous opportunities. * Collaborate with internal operations teams to optimize the utilization of the rail fleet, refine distribution design, and maximize backhaul potential. * Deliver data-driven insights to inform executive decision-making during significant rail contract negotiations. * Perform other duties as assigned.
