Position Type: ExemptDate Posted: 3/5/2026Location: DistrictPosition: Supervisor of Pupil ServicesReports to: Director of Educational AdvancementEmployment Status: Regular/Full TimeStatus: ExemptContract Days: 260 Description: Garfield Heights City Schools is seeking a Supervisor of Pupil Services to support district initiatives focused on student engagement, attendance, family partnerships, and community collaboration. This position works closely with district leadership, building administrators, families, and community partners to enhance student support services and ensure consistent implementation of district attendance policies and interventions.The Supervisor of Pupil Services & Attendance plays a key role in coordinating family and community engagement, overseeing attendance initiatives, supporting students with chronic absenteeism, and ensuring compliance with district and state attendance regulations.NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance Essential Job Functions:• Ensure safety of students• Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required• Work with appropriate school personnel (Principals, Guidance Counselors, teachers, etc.) to support when necessary• Assist the administration in implementing procedures• Facilitate mobilization of the membership of the FCE team; collaboration amongst internal school district personnel (including linkage to the district leadership team (DLT), families, county and community partners and communicates the vision of FCE)• Develop a governance structure that serves to establish leadership, create a common vision among stakeholders and support the DLT• Facilitate the modifications of the plans, strategies, and structures to support continuous improvement• Facilitate the identification of gaps in assets and resources• Develop and implement district-wide engagement opportunities for all stakeholders• Work with a team to vet and engage new organizations for new programming within the district• Participate in parent meetings district wide• Build community partnerships• Work alongside the DEI Coordinator to establish and implement practices• Work alongside outside agencies to ensure referral processes and services are implemented• Build and cultivate scholar voice by creating experiences and space for them to build school culture and climate• Serve as a resource to scholars and families to enhance and guide engagement opportunities• Act and serve on committees/Task Forces dedicated to building, serving and enhancing all schools• Work with McKinney-Vento families• Create professional development opportunities for non-teaching staff• Work collaboratively with other administrators, coordinators and directors to support the district's mission, vision and strategic plan• Support school-wide efforts to build and maintain a warm, positive, achievement-oriented school culture• Collaborate with school leaders, staff members, students and parents to establish a pleasant and supportive school environment designed to support student growth• Help teachers develop strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families• Promote student attendance, behavior and academic success through incentives and other celebrations• Partner with teachers to implement interventions for students who may be in need of additional supportAttendance & Truancy Responsibilities:• Support district-wide implementation of the Garfield Heights City Schools attendance policy• Monitor student attendance trends and collaborate with building administrators to address chronic absenteeism and excessive tardiness• Investigate attendance concerns and assist in developing intervention plans for students experiencing attendance challenges• Facilitate or assist with attendance intervention meetings, truancy prevention meetings, and mediation conferences with students and families• Serve as a liaison between the district, families, courts, Children Services, and community agencies regarding attendance matters when appropriate• Support building staff in maintaining accurate attendance records and ensuring attendance notifications are sent to families in accordance with Board policy• Assist with residency and attendance-related investigations as needed• Provide guidance and support to administrators and staff regarding attendance procedures and truancy prevention strategies• Collaborate with school teams to identify barriers to student attendance and implement support strategies• Work with the fiscal department regarding funds• Assist the Director of Educational Advancement with duties as assignedOther Duties & Responsibilities: • Serve as a role model for students• Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner• Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships• Attend professional growth seminars, workshops, etc., to keep current on relevant issues• Interact with other departments and school personnel when necessary• Interact with the Superintendent and/or Board of Education and present information as requested• Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree (B.A.)Experience in education and/or social servicesSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriateRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Knowledge
