This position is part of a strategic expansion under the leadership of the Department Chair, Dr. Aimee Payne, aimed at advancing the department's legacy of transformative research and clinical innovation.About Columbia Dermatology:Columbia Dermatology has over a century-long tradition of excellence in dermatologic research, education, and patient care. Our faculty have pioneered landmark discoveries including:The use of corticosteroids for autoimmune skin diseasesDevelopment of the antifungal agent nystatinInnovations in photopheresis and Janus kinase inhibitorsAdvances in precision medicine, tissue engineering, and diagnosticsThe department is internationally recognized for its contributions to skin cancer, autoimmunity, bioengineering, wound healing, translational science, and more.Responsibilities:Lead and expand research initiatives within the Irving Comprehensive Skin Cancer CenterDevelop an independent, externally funded research program in basic, translational, or clinical dermatologyCollaborate across CUIMC and Columbia University to foster interdisciplinary researchMentor trainees and junior facultyContribute to teaching and service within the department and universityQualificationsPh.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field.Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and scholarship.Commitment to advancing dermatologic science and improving patient outcomes.Experience or interest in skin cancer research.Eligibility for appointment at the Associate Professor level within CUIMC.Application InstructionsInterested applicants should submit:A cover letter outlining research interests and career goals.Curriculum vitae.Application ProcessThis institution is using Interfolio's Faculty Search to conduct this search.
