Position Summary * SCC is seeking two Special Assignment Student Workers to assist with Field-to-Table. * These student workers will assist in the delivery of content for two summer camps at the Field-to-Table Institute at the Dardenne Creek Campus. * The first camp will be based on agriculture/gardening and will occur between June 15-17, 2026. * The second camp, held July 20-22, will focus on preparing fresh fruits and vegetables for consumption and/or preservation. * Additionally, these two student workers will perform weekly maintenance (approximately 1-2 hours per week) in the summer camp garden plots between the two camps. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Assist SCC faculty and staff in the delivery of content for the agriculture and culinary summer camps - * Agriculture Camp - June 15, 16, 17; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm * Culinary Camp - July 20, 21, 22; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm * Assist in the logistics of the summer camps * Assist in garden bed preparations for the summer camps * Serve as mentor to summer camp participants * Assist summer camp participants with preparing and planting garden plots * Assist summer camp participants with preparing garden crops for consumption and/or preservation * Perform weekly garden bed checking/maintenance between June 15 and July 22 Physical / Environmental Requirements This position includes being fully immersed in the operations of the farm at the Field-to-Table Institute and will require working outside in the summer heat. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varied working styles • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage time effectively in a busy, shared workspace with frequent interruptions Minimum Education and/or Experience * Current Agriculture student at St. Charles Community College Preferred Qualifications * Completion of two semesters in the agriculture program * Experience working in and around the Field to Table Institute farm St. Charles Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
