This position reports to Import Operations Manager - CHB. The successful candidate in this position will possess key skills and experience which include knowledge of international import transportation, import brokerage procedures, U.S. Customs and Border Protection ("Customs"), and Participating Government Agency ("PGA") requirements including the clearance process, classification and valuation. This role primarily requires the individual to manage accounts from A to Z, prepare all documentation necessary to clear merchandise through Customs and any applicable PGA, provide excellent, thorough, and prompt customer service and perform any tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead that meets the needs of the team and department. Ensuring area housekeeping requirements are met. Meeting established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards including all OSHA rules and LOGISTEED America, Inc. safety practices. Meeting attendance & punctuality standards. Communicating both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the file/entry. Maintaining an understanding of changing tariffs and their reporting requirements. Classifying imported commodities, filing entries, and resolving any issue related to Customs clearance as assigned. Entering and transmitting ISFs (Importer Security Filing) for ocean shipments. Obtaining and checking all transportation documentation to meet Customs and insurance requirements and compliance with local and international regulations. Entering data of client shipment detail including country of origin, documentation, HTS classification and payment is up to date and accurate. Resolving customer issues, handling and solving incidents (e.g. disputes) Preparing Customs entries, including HTS classification, data input, customer invoicing and delivery of freight. Preparing and filing of ACH statements, verifying accuracy of information in CargoWise. Coordinating with US Customs Brokerage to guide the freight efficiently through complex import procedures. Communicating with Customs and Other Government agencies to ensure accurate regulatory compliance. Working closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines. Ability to multitask and produce output in high pressure and fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule as customer and business need dictates. Able to consistently produce highly accurate information for internal operations and external customers. Assisting supervisor and performing other duties as assigned by the Manager. Previous experience with metal commodities, tariff application, and HTS classifications. Previous experience with CargoWise preferred. Education and Certifications High school diploma / GED required Equivalent work experience will be considered Experience Requirements and Preferences Excellent verbal and written communications skills Proven strong business acumen Effective, clear, and concise communication skills Detail oriented with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships Proven success in and improving quality, service, safety and client relationship in a fast-paced high-pressure setting Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA) Ability to pass all TSA background requirements Knowledge of ISF filing Ability to work flexible hours according to business needs Fluency in English Must pass criminal background check Additional Eligibility Qualifications Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex data Ability to respond effectively to most sensitive inquiries or complaints Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
