Compunnel Healthcare is seeking a travel Medical Technologist for a travel job in Somerville, Massachusetts.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Medical TechnologistDiscipline: Allied Health ProfessionalStart Date: 05/03/2026Duration: 13 weeks30 hours per weekShift: 10 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelShift: 9 AM-5 30PM, Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays, Performs various chemical, microscopic and/or bacteriologic tests to obtain data used in diagnosis and treatment, and prevention of disease• Executes and analyzes tests in chemistry, hematology, morphology, cytology, urinalysis, serology, histology or bacteriology• Carries out a wide variety of complex and routine sampling, testing and recording duties related to the chemical analysis of body fluid or specimens obtained from patients• Operates various analytic devices used in performing complex testing and sampling• Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine and body fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormal components• Visually identifies and enumerates red and white blood cells• Interprets and correlates test results with patient history, diagnosis and clinical condition in order to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken. Analyzes test results and enters findings in computer• Performs quality control studies to ensure accuracy of clinical data• Performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedureJob Duties:• Perform routine and specialized laboratory assays to analyze patient specimens.• Provide critical data to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment within the area of specialization.Key Responsibilities• Conduct microscopic examinations, including semen and urine analysis.• Evaluate the validity of laboratory data and accurately record test results.• Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and quality control standards.Required Qualifications• Proficiency in microscopy, semen analysis, and urine analysis. (We don't require semen analysis experience if urine microscopy is a strength.)• ASCP certification.• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Preferred Qualifications• Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification.• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) punnel Healthcare Job ID #40381.
