Primary Function: Assists the Education Specialist and GenEd teacher in providing instructional and behavioralsupport to behaviorally-challenged students in the Special Education program; monitors and redirects studentprogress regarding inappropriate behaviors and performance; supports acquisition of appropriate skills andbehaviors; assists in meeting special needs which may include feeding and toileting students; performs a variety ofresponsible and specialized tasks in the physical care and classroom instruction of students with disabilities; assistsstudents with disabilities in meeting the physical requirements of attending school; administers Intensive BehaviorIntervention methods based on the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) model, including Discrete Trial Training (DTT),to identified student in the Special Education program; performs a variety of clerical duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:(*) High School Diploma; minimum of two years of college (60 semester units completed).(*) ABA certification OR one year of experience working with students with special needs, including students with autism,and some demonstrated experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based behavior interventiontechniques.(*) TB Test clearance & DOJ fingerprinting clearance;(*) An enthusiasm to support ALL students.(*) Possess/maintain valid infant, child and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certificationApplicants who do not have any one of the qualifications will not be considered.Desirable Qualifications:(+) Experience in observing and charting student behavioral data.(+) Training in implementing Intensive Behavior Intervention techniques.
