How you'll contribute A Respiratory Therapist (CRT) who excels in this role: * Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Performs bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered. * Delivers and evaluates patient response to therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately. * Responds to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provides rapid assessment and appropriate intervention. * Educates patients and families about illness management and community resources. * Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. * Stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas with required levels and equipment. * Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment. * Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. * Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed. * Maintains regular and reliable attendance. * Performs other duties as assigned. Additional requirements include: * Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required. * License: /Certifications: Current CRT or RRT license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
