Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support efficient operations and positive patient outcomes across all age populations served.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform ultrasound diagnostic procedures following established protocols and standards of practiceProduce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safetyPrepare, position, and educate patients to minimize anxiety and obtain optimal imaging resultsVerify clinical history and ensure correct procedures are ordered and performedOperate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment and associated technologies, including PACSMaintain accurate electronic patient records and charge captureApply aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control and safety guidelinesRecognize and respond appropriately to adverse patient reactionsCommunicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, students, and other care team membersSupport patient and employee safety initiatives and proactively report errors or safety concernsAssist with departmental quality improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, CMS, ACR, etc.)Participate in the education and supervision of ultrasound students as assignedMaintain required licensure, certifications, and mandatory hospital educationPerform other duties as assigned to support department operationsWhat Sets BRG Apart:At Baton Rouge General, we are a community of compassionate, caring individuals who set the bar for healthcare excellence.
