We provide care across all levels of need in a warm, welcoming environment that meets clients where they are and empowers them to “be the great person they were always meant to be.”We are seeking a Psychiatrist who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate psychiatric care.Position OverviewThe Psychiatrist plays a vital clinical leadership role at SLOW and works under the supervision of the CEO. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, stabilization, and psychiatric well-being of clients throughout their treatment journey.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessmentsDevelop and oversee individualized treatment plansPrescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medicationsProvide ongoing psychiatric care for clients with a range of mental health disordersUtilize evidence-based treatment approaches to support symptom management and recoveryCollaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated, holistic careProvide crisis intervention and psychiatric support during acute episodesSupport clients with developmental disabilities and other special needsMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentationCommunicate effectively with clinical staff using appropriate medical terminologyClinical Expertise & SkillsProficient in diagnosing and treating conditions including:PTSDAnxiety disordersMood disordersPsychotic disordersStrong skills in crisis management and stabilizationExperience developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needsKnowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices and therapiesAbility to function effectively in fast-paced, treatment-focused environmentsQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic MedicineBoard Certified or Board Eligible PsychiatristActive, unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia (required)Post-residency experience in psychiatryExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferredExperience in hospital or behavioral health treatment settings preferredStrong understanding of documentation standards and regulatory complianceCurrent CPR certificationClear background check (no felony or substance abuse convictions within the past five years)BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceWhy Join SLOW?At Southern Live Oak Wellness, you’ll join a mission-driven organization committed to clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care.
