American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of full-lifespan experience for a 12-hour night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Libertyville, IL.Job Details• Respiratory Therapy Services: Pulmonary unit at a 273-bed Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet-designated primary stroke center and teaching hospital in Libertyville, IL,• Full lifespan patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric respiratory patients,• 1:1 patient ratios,• Specialized procedures include tracheostomy management, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws,• Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention experience required,• Equipment includes PB840 and PB980 ventilators, Servo-U, Hamilton (including transport), V60, ResMed, RemStar CPAP/BiPAP, and Optiflow,• Charting via Epic (experience required),• 12-hour night shifts beginning at 6:00 PM, 36 hours per week,• Every other weekend rotation,• No on-call requirements,• Floating may be required to other hospitals within the Patient Service Area (PSA),Job Requirements• Active RRT credential required; CRT also accepted,• Active IL respiratory therapy license required if applicable,• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS (both AHA), PALS, and NRP - all must be in hand at time of consideration,• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy across the full patient lifespan (pediatric, adult, and geriatric),• Critical care experience required,• Epic EMR experience required,• Experience with trachs, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, spontaneous breathing trials, ABG draws, and VAP prevention,• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration,• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN,Additional Information• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis,• Supervised by an on-unit supervisor,• Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit,• Holiday coverage required based on facility needs,• Charcoal gray scrubs required,• Free parking available on-site
