Overview The Department of Immunology maintains research programs that focus on translational and basic research in areas relevant to human disease. Our goal is to become a world-class center for the study of inflammation and the targeted development of novel therapeutics for both treatment and prevention of immune-mediated diseases. What You'll Do * Technical help in experiments and data analysis, record keeping, inventory, ordering, and mouse colony oversight. * Conducts bench research experiments following appropriate protocols and procedures to achieve results * Performs techniques such as tissue culture, PCR, immunohistochemistry, electrophoresis, protein purification, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, CRISPR-Cas9 editing. * Records results and maintains accurate records of experiments * Performs limited data interpretation and assists with basic statistics and analysis * Maintains laboratory equipment and orders/keeps inventory of supplies * Prepares stock solutions, reagents and other media * If necessary, test the role of malaria proteins as potential vaccine candidates using mouse models. What We're Looking For Basic Requirements: * Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through up to one year laboratory experience Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in science * Familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures, including malaria parasite tissue culture, PCR, and basic understanding of gene editing technology. Pay Range Minimum $20.50, Midpoint $24.40, Maximum $28.30 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
