Description - External * $5,000 Sign-On Bonus * Department: Electrophysiology Schedule: 40hrs, Day Shift GENERAL SUMMARY: * The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech I works as a member of the Cardiovascular Lab (CCL) team of medical professionals. Under the direct supervision, is responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing Scrub or Monitor functions. * Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the CCL. * Responsible for patient safety in the CCL and must be able to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, operate external cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography) * Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience preferably in Cath Lab or in Radiology and/or registry eligible. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: * Valid BCLS certification required * ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire. * Licensure or Certification in degree field preferred. * Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to develop and maintain a wide variety of cooperative working relationships and convey information clearly and consistently through verbal and written medium. * Analytical ability necessary in order to determine best method of providing requested test based on the specifics of each individual case.
