The work we do building families offers purpose, challenge, and personal reward-and we're just getting started.Opportunity OverviewWe have an immediate opening for a Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Nashville, Tennessee.Schedule: Monday through Thursday, with schedule times being dependent upon the case load (8 hour shifts), with 1 weekend per month and 1 holiday per yearThis role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.How You'll ContributeAt US Fertility, collaboration is fundamental to how we work. Whether collaborating with more than 200 highly respected physicians nationwide or partnering with colleagues who are passionate about solving meaningful problems, you'll be surrounded by a team committed to shared success.In this role, the Certified Surgical Technician will:Ensure patient comfort and safety measures are maintainedAnticipate special needs and instrumentation for the patient relative to an accurate assessment of the patient and chart informationPrepare the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instrumentationSet up sterile OR field with necessary equipment to perform the surgeryPerform appropriate cleaning of the operating room between casesUtilize surgeon preference cards to set up each case; update cards when indicated and ensuring their correctnessEnsure availability of adequate supplies, equipment, and instruments for scheduled casesCommunicate with the surgical team prior to the case to ascertain specific needsAssist in draping to provide a sterile fieldAssist the surgeon during the surgical procedure anticipating his/her needs and the patient's needs during the caseConscientiously observe and report any breaks in sterile technique to the surgeon and RN circulatorEnsure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressingsAssure that counts (sponge, needle or instruments) are correct before patient leaves the OR; utilize supplies in a cost-effective mannerAssist in moving the patient to stretcher after caseMaintain a clean and orderly environment within the operative suiteIntegrate concepts of good body mechanics and "universal" precautions in daily work, wearing personal protective equipment as dictated by task at handComplete all appropriate logs and checks prior to start of case and records indicator strip in logAssist in the daily maintenance of the departmentRestock the OR dailyHelp to restock sterile supply room and storage shelving as neededPull for the next day cases; set up for the next day as needed by gathering equipment and suppliesMake a list of supplies that needs to be orderedComplete sterilization of all instruments used that dayMaintain autoclaves and complete logs for cleaning and testingMaintain clean and dirty utility rooms by stocking and cleaning dailySeek out work to be completed, verify with nurse manager, and be available to perform daily tasksTerminally clean the OR at end of the day; restock blanket and fluid warmer for next dayUtilize interpersonal skills in an effective mannerAssist in orienting new staff members to the ORMaintain good relationships and communicate well with patients, families, staff, and physiciansComplete other duties as assignedWhat You'll BringWe're looking for professionals who bring both technical skill and a deep sense of responsibility to the care experience-individuals who thrive in environments where excellence, empathy, and accountability matter.Qualifications and Skills Include:Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Reproductive Biology, or Cell Biology preferredGraduate of an accredited OR Technician program with appropriate certification required1 year minimum of experience in surgical technology, including instrument sterilization and OR cleaning processesExperience in specialty surgical fields such as orthopedics, gynecology, or fertility procedures preferredActive BLS certificationStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal communication skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood research skillsTech savvyFlexibility and willingness to learn at all timesMore important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
