Location: Chelsea MIJob Req ID: 15896Join our amazing team and contribute as a:Lab TechnicianABOUT THE ROLEAmrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Lab Technician in Manchester, MI. A Lab Technician is responsible for testing and inspecting materials to ensure they meet required specifications and industry standards. Also to collect samples, perform lab and field tests, and document results to maintain consistent product quality.WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISHCollect aggregate samples from the quarry and stockpilesRecord, analyze, and report test results accuratelyEnsure materials meet quality and industry specificationsMaintain and calibrate lab testing equipmentPerforming routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures and picking deleteriousEntering data into the aggregate quality reporting systemCalibrating lab equipment Loading Ships with spec productsFilling in with Dozer reliefBasic understanding of control chartsFollow safety and quality control proceduresCommunicate results and issues with production and management teamsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREducation: High school diploma or equivalentField of Study Preferred: Construction materials, or a related laboratory science fieldRequired Work Experience: Two-year technical degree required or five years in QC testing of constructionmaterials in lieu of education. Four-year college degree preferred.Experience working as a lab technician or in a quality control role (preferred)Knowledge of aggregate testing methods and industry standardsStrong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic computer skills for data entry and reportingWillingness to work outdoors and in a quarry environmentUnderstanding of safety procedures and regulationsAdditional Requirements:Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
