Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Position Title Master Level Clinician - Department of Medicine- Division of Behavioral Medicine Posting Category Staff Department Medicine Posting Number U250066 Posting Link Employer University Affiliates Appointment Term Position Type Posting Detail Information Position Summary The Masters-Level Clinician in our integrated care team provides brief, targeted evidence-based behavioral assessment and clinical services within a collaborate, interdisciplinary healthcare setting. This position bridges mental health and physical health care, offering screening, assessment, consultation, brief intervention, and coordination of care across the lifespan in an integrated, outpatient setting. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct initial behavioral assessments using brief assessments and develop patient-centered, evidence-based treatment plans. * Utilize motivational interviewing to assess patient's readiness for change, identify barriers to care and compliance, and help address barriers to patient self-management of mental and physical health conditions. * Provide brief, targeted evidence-based interventions to address common medical and mental health conditions. * Work with patients to identify actionable treatment goals and empower patients to self-manage their health. •Screen for mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, pain, trauma, and medication adherence. * Complete risk assessments of patients in crisis or with suicidal thoughts using evidence-based tools. * Act as a valued consultant and resource to members of the care team on skillful and effective interventions with patients with chronic illness and mental health diagnoses. •Document patient encounters in the electronic health record system. * Actively participate in professional development activities and collaborate with the primary care team to develop guidelines and education for patients to improve self-management of chronic health concerns. * Conduct group therapy sessions as appropriate. * Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary case conferences. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field. * ·Current state licensure or license-eligible (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LISW-CP, or equivalent). * Experience in brief, evidence-based interventions (e.g., motivational interviewing, CBT, behavioral activation, ACT/mindfulness, social support). * Understanding of integrated care principles and population health management. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Experience with electronic health records and documentation. * Cultural competence and experience working with diverse and underserved/vulnerable populations. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in primary care, multidisciplinary, or integrated care settings. * Knowledge of behavior change principles. * Crisis intervention experience. * Familiar with current DSM and ICD Diagnosis Codes. * Able to communicate and work effectively with various levels of care team across all integrated care team disciplines. * Mixture of scheduled appointments and occasional same-day consultations. * Regular work hours with occasional flexibility required. Physical Demands Salary Range $65,000 - $85,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
