Job DescriptionLaboratory & Learning Assistant for Health Sciences and Public Health to support student engagement and learning in Microbiology. The main role of the Learning Assistant in the microbiology lecture and laboratory courses will be to support student equipment management, laboratory preparation, set up and break down. The Learning Assistant will also sterilize laboratory equipment, prepare laboratory media, grow microbes, wash glassware and complete other laboratory preparatory activities. The Learning Assistants will support students enrolled in the course with courses' content and assignments. The Learning assistant will answer students' questions, model techniques, moderate student discussions, answer questions about assignments, and prepare some materials to be used during review sessions. The Learning Assistant will be trained and certified in Biosafety Level 2 protocols and will be trained prior to engaging with students.
