Respiratory Therapist

Summary: Administers a variety of Respiratory Therapy modalities and interventions to patients according to physician order and/or hospital approved policies and protocols based on evidenced based research, guidelines, and algorithms. Formal Education Required: a. Graduate of an A.M.A. or CoARC approved program for Respiratory Therapists (Registry eligible). Experience and Training Required: a. Valid Ohio license (RCP) to practice Respiratory Care, granted by the State Medical Board of Ohio. b. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) & obtain RRT within 120 days of employment (start date). Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. b. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Level of Physical Demands: a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
