MRI/CT Tech Assistant

Responsibilities: * Greets and assists patients upon arrival; prepares paperwork and verifies documentation. * Answers phone calls related to scheduling, patient questions, and history collection. * Performs MRI safety screening per established protocols and reviews documentation with the technologist. * Escorts, positions, lifts, and transfers patients as needed to ensure safety and comfort. * Establishes IV access and assists with oral contrast preparation and patient instructions under technologist direction. * Positions patients and imaging equipment according to protocol to ensure accurate imaging. * Provides patient monitoring, support during exams, and discharge instructions as directed. * Assists with quality control testing and reports equipment issues promptly. * Transports patients, cleans, and prepares exam rooms per departmental guidelines. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * At least one-year of previous healthcare experience. * Medical terminology and recent medical/imaging office experience preferred. * IV insertion experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire * Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) * Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal * Act 33 with renewal * Act 34 with renewal * Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
