About NewLimitNewLimit is a biotechnology company working to radically extend human healthspan. We're developing medicines to treat age-related diseases by reprogramming the epigenome, a new therapeutic mechanism to restore regenerative potential in aged and diseased cells. We leverage functional genomics, pooled perturbation screening, and machine learning models to unravel the biology of epigenetic aging and disease using experiments of unprecedented scale.PositionNewLimit is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our Immunology team. One of our initial therapeutic programs is developing an epigenetic reprogramming intervention to rejuvenate aged T lymphocytes for infectious and inflammatory disease applications. In this role, you will help develop culture systems and perform functional assays to evaluate the effectiveness of our therapeutic candidates and enable the development of new medicines. What you'll doCollaborate with our Single Cell Technology, Epigenetic Editing, and Predictive Modeling teams to screen epigenetic reprogramming interventions for aged T cellsSupport in vivo studies by assisting with tissue processing (e.g., lymphoid and non-lymphoid organs) for downstream cellular and molecular analysesContribute to the development and execution of immune-mediated disease models, with opportunities for hands-on in vivo work for candidates with relevant experience or interestIsolate human and mouse T cell populations using FACS, MACS, and density gradient separationDevelop in vitro assays to assess the therapeutic activity of Treg and conventional T cellsPerform flow cytometry to characterize immune cell populationsDeliver epigenetic reprogramming perturbations to primary T cells using multiple transgenic manipulation methods (e.g., viral vector, lipofection)RequirementsBS in cell biology, immunology, or a related natural science and 2+ years of work experience in an industry settingProficiency with mammalian T cell cultureProficiency performing flow cytometry and/or FACS independently, with experience in accompanying data analysisExperience performing T cell functional assays (e.g., proliferation, cytokine, cytotoxicity)Willingness to support in vivo studies through tissue processing, sample preparation, and downstream analysesExceptional organizational skills, as demonstrated by detailed record-keeping in lab notebooks and an ability to effectively carry out multiple ongoing projects or experimentsNice to haveHands-on experience with in vivo animal studies, including dosing techniques, dissection, and organ collectionExperience with animal models of inflammation and autoimmune diseaseExperience with primary immune cell isolation using MACS and/or density gradient separation (e.g., Ficoll, Percoll, Lymphoprep, etc.)Experience with high-throughput screening of T cells or other primary immune cellsExperience with Treg assays and/or T cell differentiation protocols (e.g., inducible Tregs, Th1/Th2/Th17 polarization)Experience using computational tools to automate routine data analysis (e.g., Python programming, Unix, R)BenefitsNewLimit offers generous benefits to ensure our team can focus on our mission:Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid parental leaveIndustry-leading paid time off (PTO) - 20 days/year for all employees + holidaysMeals and snacks on-siteSalary Range: $90,000 to $110,000.
