With over 7,000 employees, Lakeland Regional Health offers a supportive work environment where you can thrive and grow professionally.Active - Benefit Eligible and Accrues Time Off Work Hours per Biweekly Pay Period: 80.00 Shift: M-F with Call Rotation Location: 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd Lakeland, FL Pay Rate: Min $40.13 Mid $50.16Position SummaryResponsible for assisting the Cardiologist on all procedures in the Cath and Electrophysiology Lab, including: diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, structural heart, and peripheral cases, implanting cardiac devices and arrhythmia ablations. Serve the need of patients by overseeing the development, integration, and evaluation of the effectiveness of patient protocols and effects on patient outcomes. Demonstrates sound judgement and critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe and quality care throughout the perioperative phase. Effectively interacts with patients, families, and physicians while maintaining professional practice and ensuring compliance with current regulatory requirements. Demonstrates accurate documentation of patient information during the entire perioperative phase of care according to documentation standards.Communicates effectively with the physician, members of the multidisciplinary team, patient and family members. Maintains patient comfort, confidentiality and privacy; adheres to HIPAA standards.Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment and systems/technology necessary to complete duties for all Cath and EP lab procedures; including set up and operation of specialized Cath and EP equipment, including data recording systems, advanced interventional equipment, programmable stimulators, mapping systems, and various generators and other equipment involved in Cath and EP procedures. Ability to performs various duties within the Cath and EP lab; including Circulate, Record, Pan, and Scrub, to assistance the Cardiologist and/or Electrophysiologists during Cath and EP procedures including diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Catheterizations, structural heart and peripheral procedures, cardiac device implants and arrhythmia ablations.Demonstrates knowledge of Cath and EP lab procedures; including indications, hemodynamic monitoring, and related anatomy.Perform duties of monitoring on all Cath and EP cases, including operating specialized EP equipment, including data recording systems, programmable stimulators, mapping systems, and various generators and other equipment involved in EP procedures. Knowledge to include but not limited to: Know how to change interventions in system during a procedure Analyze 12-64 electrocardiograms simultaneously know how to stem or pace using a pacing system and program Able to do single, double or triple stimulations able to do sensed PVCs able to overdrive pacing.Has knowledge and ability to assist in of ICD and pacemaker interrogation in the EP lab before and after EP procedure as needed.Maintains knowledge of process in the interrogation of devices (ICDs and pacemakers) and associated procedures.Troubleshoots equipment problems and works with BioMed staff to maximize the functionality of the equipment.Collaborates with management and physicians the operations and organization of the Cath and EP Lab, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and supplies inventory. Able to work independently and direct other staff in the care and management of patients through admit to discharge from Cath and EP lab.Restock supplies, maintain clean work area; file room work, reception duties, computer use as required.Competencies & Skills Essential:Competency in ECG interpretation ACLSNonessential:BLSQualifications & Experience Essential:Associate DegreeEssential:Graduate of Accredited Cardiovascular Interventional Technical (CVT) or Accredited Electrophysiology Program, or in leu of CVT degree a graduate of accredited Radiology Technologist or Respiratory Therapist program is acceptable.Essential:Basic Cardiac Life SupportOther information:Certification Essential:- Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). In leu of CVT degree with RCIS or RCES, the following certifications are acceptable:- R.T.(R)(ARRT) or- R.T.(CI)(ARRT) or- R.T.(VI)(ARRT)- RRTCertification Preferred:- Certification in Pacing and Electrophysiology with the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE)Experience Essential: Graduate of Accredited Cardiovascular Interventional Technical (CVT) or Accredited Electrophysiology Program orOne year experience as respiratory therapistLicense essential:- In leu of CVT degree with RCIS or RCES certification, the following are acceptable:Certified Radiologic Technologist from Florida Department of Health orRegistered Respiratory Therapist from Florida Department of Health
