Schedule and hours to be determined, contract for a full school year is for 192 days and is hired through the ESC of Central Ohio. School Nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and health of students.We encourage all interested applicants to submit completed materials by April 6, 2026.JOB GOALS: The School Nurse will develop and implement school health policies and procedures to reduce health-related barriers to learning. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining uniform health records and forms, coordinating the administration of medications and treatments, presenting in-service trainings, and supporting the special needs classroom staff.QUALIFICATIONS: Current State of Ohio Registered Nurse licenseMust obtain Ohio State Board of Education pupil services license for school nurse upon hireCurrent BCI/FBI background checkCurrent CPR/AED/First Aid certificationBachelors of Nursing preferred but not requiredMinimum of 5 years experience as a registered nurseREPORTS TO:District Nurse, Building Principal and Director of Student ServicesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and with othersAbility to communicate well with staff and community membersAbility to assess situations quickly and respond appropriatelyAbility to multitaskESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Treat students when present, and respond to emergencies during school hours/school sponsored eventsObtain and administer care plan for students with ongoing conditionsProvide timely parent communication related to medical forms and student health related concernsAdminister scheduled and emergency medicationsConsult with teachers and school administrators regarding student care and medical needsPrepare care plans, scheduled and emergency medications for students for school sponsored events off school premisesConduct screenings as required by The State of Ohio such as vision and hearingFor questions regarding this position, please contact Ross Linscott, Director of Student Services (rosslinscott@).Attachment(s):nurse job description
