Support student success as an Onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for the 2025-2026 school year in Minneapolis, MN. This contract role provides an opportunity to collaborate closely with special education professionals and positively impact elementary students across multiple schools within a dynamic district setting. Responsibilities: Consult with educators and staff to develop and implement positive behavior intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs. Conduct functional behavior assessments and utilize data-driven approaches to inform interventions. Apply de-escalation techniques and restrictive procedures as necessary to maintain a safe learning environment. Collaborate with Behavior Specialists and the SpEd Administrator to support four elementary schools in the area. Assist in creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) following district and legal requirements. Provide training and guidance for school staff regarding behavior management and intervention techniques. Maintain compliance with school policies and promote a positive, supportive work environment. Respond calmly and adaptively during crisis situations to ensure student and staff safety. Qualifications: Licensed as a BCBA or Special Education Teacher holding a Tier 3 or Tier 4 license. Experience conducting behavior assessments and implementing behavior support plans. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with educational teams and families. Ability to manage multiple caseloads while maintaining flexibility and adaptability. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards related to special education and behavior intervention. Location & Schedule: Based in Anoka, MN, supporting elementary schools in Ramsey, Blaine, and Andover. Typical hours are approximately 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, with slight variability, totaling 18.75 hours per week, primarily on Mondays. Contract length: January 5, 2026, through June 5, 2026.
