Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for our Vascular Surgery division. This individual will be responsible for providing patient care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards, and care within the scope of practice as defined by the division. This position will be outpatient focused with dedicated administrative time as determined by the Chief of Vascular Surgery to best fit the needs of the division and ensure world class delivery of quality care. This position requires graduation from an accredited APRN academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum 1 year experience as a provider with surgical specialty; vascular or CT Surgery experience as a provider strongly preferred * Research and Program Development strongly preferred * ICU experience strongly preferred * Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular disease (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, etc) management * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Ability to work effectively in a team and independently * Commitment to ongoing professional development and process improvement Clinical duties include direct patient care for established and acute patients, including pre- and post-op patients. Serves as an extension of our physician providers in the Vascular Division. Conducts independent clinics. Responsible for care coordination of complex surgical patients including surgical planning, and post-operative management. Responsible for closing all encounters within the approved policy based timeline, maintaining all appropriate licensure and certification through continuing education, completing all patient related paperwork in a timely manner and responding to patient tasks including phone calls, MyChart messages and other forms of communication from patient that may require a response.
