Pharmacist - Glenwood Springs, CO

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a hospital pharmacy during its transition from Meditech to Epic electronic medical records. This contract role begins ASAP with an assignment expected to continue until mid-August 2026. The position offers a 40-hour workweek with rotating day and evening shifts, including weekends. Schedule: Monday to Friday: Start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Rotating weekends: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM Total: 40 hours per week Key Responsibilities: Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately according to physician requests. Maintain medication stock in patient care areas. Interpret medication orders and document computerized patient medication profiles. Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition. Adhere to federal, state, and local laws related to medication dispensing and controlled substances. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosing appropriateness. Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing and review antibiotic therapies for appropriateness. Provide clinical consultations and drug information to healthcare practitioners and patients. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication reviews, and training programs. Serve as a member of the Code Response Team. Qualifications and Experience: Must hold an active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing. Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree. Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association. Required flu vaccine (no exemptions) for the October 1 through April 1 period. Essential: Experience with Epic electronic medical records. Meditech training is a strong plus.
