Respiratory Therapist- Per Diem Shift: Day/Night Rotation. Assigned hard days offSummary: REVA Inc, is a US based air ambulance company with established flight operations internationally. We operate air ambulance aircrafts conducting medium and long-range air ambulance flights. Responsibilities: Evaluation, coordination, and delivery of medical care provided to patients during transportIs familiar with the scope of practice of the transport team members and the State rules and regulations in which the transport team operates Works with the other transport team members to coordinate care of the patient during transport; once called, readily available/arrive at specified location, within 45 minutes before wheels Preflight Responsibilities: Calculates, loads and secures oxygen appropriate to patient needs, allowing for delays and/or changes in patient conditionAssures medical equipment is accounted for, properly functioning and securely stowed on the aircraftFamiliar with location and use of equipment and supplies, to include medicationsAssures additional medical equipment/supplies are available for the specific needs of the patient condition and needs, based on available patient report and distance of transportCommunicates condition, acuity and any unusual issues with entire transport teamReviews dispatch sheet with Flight Coordinator, noting special instructionsParticipates in pre-flight debriefing with other members of team, including pilotsUnderstands and follows guidelines, policies, and procedures of Reva, Inc. Qualifications: Proficient in all basic therapeutic modalities of respiratory careMinimum of 3 years related experience. Previous flight experience preferredFlight experience can be substituted year for year for the ICU/ED/Trauma requirementRT license as appropriate to assigned locationCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTL Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification preferred but not requiredCurrent Passport requiredMinimum availability required is 6 days a month with one weekend includedAbility to work varied shifts and cover fixed wing air ambulance call shiftsMust live within an hour of Fort Lauderdale Executive airport (FXE) and be able to stay on overnightsMust be able to lift and move up to 50 pound and help transfer patients of all ages and physical conditionsMust be flexible and able to handle unexpected situations and delays with a good attitudeMust be able to work well as part of a teamBilingual skills a plus Physical:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the followingWalk and stand for prolonged periodsLift and/or move up to 50 poundsTransfer/position patients of all ages and physical conditionsCollect, interpret, and/or analyze diagnostic dataUtilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patientsInterpret complex laws, regulations, and/or policies Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously Understand and respond to a diverse populationWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
