The Manager, DC Power Project Engineering is responsible for managing a team of DC Power Engineers, as well as, developing the detailed specifications, for the installation of DC power and telecommunications equipment into Central Offices. Specifically, the responsibilities of this position include: Interfacing with customer technical representatives Performing site surveys Creating price quotes Writing detailed installation specifications Detailing material requirements Performing material and labor cost analysis Providing technical and engineering field support Managing 2-3 DC Power Project Engineers Knowledge of telecommunications transport technologies and central office environments and standards are a plus. The Manager is the primary point of contact for the customer as well as for operations, installation and project management personnel on technical matters on assigned projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Field travel for site surveys and project related meetings. 2. Preparation of proposals, based on site surveys, customer requests and standards. 3. Selection of materials to meet project installation requirements. 4. Preparation of detailed engineering and installation specifications. 5. Modification of customer drawings and data for projects. 6. Provide status on assigned projects. 7. Assure adherence to CTDI and customer standards and practices. 8. Participation in quality activities for project engineering work. 9. Interfaces directly with customer field, center and central office engineers on scope and content of assigned projects. 10. Provide specific detail engineering information to customers for projects assigned. 11. Assist in customer inquiries to resolve technical issues. 12. Serve as primary point of contact for the customer on projects executed by the team. 13. Acts as technical leader on projects assigned. 14. Takes measures as necessary to satisfy the needs of the customer in the best interests of both the customer and CTDI. Required Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of relevant DC power plant engineering experience in a Central Office environment. Central office DC power plant engineering experience including: Proficient with various original equipment manufacturers (ABB, Vertiv, Alpha) Proficient with various battery types (flooded, VRLA) Proficient with customer standards particularly AT&T and Verizon Proficient with customer databases (PowerPro, AMPEERS, GeoLink, etc) Proficient with Rectifiers, Controllers, Inverters, Converters, Batteries, Secondary distribution to BDFB/BDCBB Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with our customer. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. Strong PC skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word. AutoCad is a plus. Ability to travel regionally. Must be flexible to take on additional projects and job duties when required. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
